Review of the week:

LYNYRD SKYNYRD - Edge Of Forever / SPV

As a commercial says: Southerners have their own rules... well cheers to the Southerners and their incredible ability to make our summer days and nights less hot and more cool. The new album of the Southern Rock Kings smells like... '70s spirit for a hundred miles away. Wrapped up in a more Hard Rockish package but still with the characteristic Southern sound and feel in each of the 12 songs that includes. Van Zand proves to be a worthy successor of his brother (once more), the guitar melodies were never absent from their sound and the rhythm section is just holding everyone together. The edge of forever is far too distant to travel alone, so let the guys keep you company and make the journey like a walk in the park. Let the beer flow.
