Introduction to Domestic Bliss

Do you like to save time? How about money? Is sanity important to you? Perhaps, like the rest of us, you've realized that it's difficult to manage all three simultaneously. With the hectic pace of the world and "to-do list" overload, something usually gives. It may be basic things like sleep and exercise. It may be your relationships with others and yourself. If you want your household to be perfect, carefree and overflowing with monetary and emotional wealth, I can't help you. (Only you can make that happen, and if you do, please share your method with the rest of us.) But everyone's life has room for improvement, and I hope my ideas and tips can help you live the richest life possible.

You will find a wealth of information on organization, time and money management, and good old-fashioned frugality! Tune in for tips on surviving in a one-income household, finding time to be a couple (even with children in the home), and exploring your inner self-the one you've probably neglected along the way. (You can and should always be true to yourself. In fact, you may find your other relationships will improve when you do this.) My ideas are not just for women; I encourage everyone involved in family management (including you, Hip Hubby of the 90's) to give them a try.

I've read some exceptional parenting and family columns at Suite 101. I would like to combine these elements with other household issues and offer ways to ensure they co-exist happily.

I've been married for ten years and have three children. This creates a rich environment for ideas to use in my freelance writing. I specialize in children's literature, and with the exception of my family, nothing could be more rewarding for me. Besides writing, I enjoy people and helping others; hence this column. Please feel free to share your ideas. Knowledge is the first step on the road to Domestic Bliss.

Until next time...
