Home versus Professional Grooming
So your puppy is looking rather shabby. It's time for the first grooming. You may have asked yourself, should I try to do it myself or would I be farther ahead to have a professional groomer do my dog? Well let's look at this from all angles. Basic training at home will need to be done whether you use the services of the pros or not, unless, of course, you don't mind being charged for the additional time a groomer will have to put in to try and groom a puppy that won't behave. Most grooming shops charge for their time. Adding an extra half hour to a willful pup can push your total grooming fee up $5-10. Home training takes time and consistency. The more you work with your puppy in remaining still while being brushed, the easier trimming will be.
