Healthy Sour Tomato Soup Recipe

The foundation of being beautiful is eating well! So here is a yummy recipe...

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 pound of skinned and chopped tomatoes (seeds removed)

  • 1/2 a cup of orange juice

  • 1/2 a cup of orange peel

  • 2 teaspoons of lemon juice

  • 1/4 of an onion (diced)

  • 2 tablespoons of tomato paste

  • 2 ounces of flour

  • 8 cups of chicken broth

  • 1/2 cup of cream

  • 1 teaspoon of sugar

  • 2 ounces of butter

    SEASONING:

  • salt

  • pepper

    HOW TO DO IT:

    1.Put the tomatoes, onions and orange peel into the chicken broth and cook for 20 minutes.

    2.Put the mixture into a blender and mix to tiny pieces.

    2.Melt the butter in a saucepan.

    2.Add in the tomato paste, sugar and flower, and mix well.

    3.Add in the tomato sauce a little at a time. Stir well.

    4.Cook at medium heat for 15 minutes.

    5.Add in the orange juice and lemon juice.

    5.Add in the cream.

    6.Season well.

    9.It's done! Enjoy with some garlic bread :)

    The tomato is the world's most popular fruit.

    Tomatoes are native to America and were first cultivated in 700 A.D. However, the fear of tomatoes being poisonous persisted until about 1812 when the Creoles in New Orleans used tomatoes in gumbos and jambalayas. By 1850 the tomato gained popularity throughout all America.

    Tomatoes have a natural ripening hormone called ethylene. This is the same kind of ripening hormone found in apples.

    Cooked tomatoes have higher concentrations of lycopene (the important carotenoid that appears to be effective in preventing certain cancers) than non-cooked and may be even more beneficial to reducing the risk of cancer.

    Botanically, tomatoes are a fruit. This is because, generally, a fruit is the edible part of the plant that contains the seeds, while a vegetable is the edible stems, leaves, and roots of the plant.

    Forty percent of Americans who raise their own tomatoes do it for taste, not health.
