For most of the kids in the US, School started last week or will begin soon. School brings new challenges for even the best of scheduling/budgeting of parents. Many single parents are faced with a small budget and no means to get all the need. There are many choices to help ends meet including asking for a little help. 1. Write every things down! Make lists, budgets, and a want list. 2. Check out social service agencies. Many donate school supplies just to help meet school needs. 3. Don't forget to ask the other parent or grandparents if possible, sometime they might be willing to help. 4. Catalog or Internet shop for the essentials. Try www.amway.com- you can buy jeans and potato chips. Try www.snap.com. or www.frenchtoast.com, www.ibiley.com if you need a uniform. Many times they are cheaper and have no tax specials. 5. Ask the school or the teacher. They might know of unnecessary items and items that can be bought later. 6. Listen to your children sometimes they have good ideas. Remember "out of the mouths of babes". 7. Comparison shop. There are a lot of sales at this time of year. 8. Check consignment shops. Many times you can find nice clothes and sleep mats in very good condition at relatively low prices. 9. If you don't have everything don't panic. Teachers can be very understanding of the situation,. Make sure they know because they can really work with you on pick up when the child needs to be picked up by the other parent. 10. Don't sweat it. It will work out, ask for help, don't stress.
