Much like the Wal-Mart Superstore, this month I thought you might appreciate a one stop shopping experience. That said, point your browser to: www.distance-educator.com
This site has everyhting you might expect, except for the supermarket. In a recent persual of the site, I found an interview with Michael Moore, who is one of the forefathers of distance learning, and also one of the site's Advisory Board Members. Moore takes the reader on an insightful look at the evolution of the field, and also makes several predictions about the coming decade. There is also an article by Distance-Educator's CEO, Farhed Saba, on the looming consolidation in the field, and what exactly this means to students and educators alike. There are also daily news listings, discussion boards, listings of conferences, and a very insightful link to what's called the "Editor's Bookshelf." As it's title suggests, this is the editor's pick of the current literature in the field, providing both summary and commentary. Also regulary featured, is a column focusing on a single universities' distance offerings. Although, perhaps what I liked best about this site is the option for an e-mail notification each time new content is added. All in all, Distance-Educator is an excellent site for anyone interested in the future of the field. Much like Wal-Mart, and all good things in the 21st century, it's fast, friendly and easy to use. What else could you possibly ask for??? Go To Page: 1
