Writing a love letter to Big Brother? The Freedom Network might not be for you, but for those less infatuated with the "Powers that Be," this is an excellent resource.

The Freedom Network (www.freedom.net/info/) is "a series of privacy-enhancing detours," that encrypts all Internet traffic numerous times before it is received by newsgroups, telent, web and chat sites. The Network allows users to create pseudonyms "nyms" as online identities. Users can create as many "nyms" as they wish, and disclose as little or as much information for each as they choose. These "nyms" operate by way of cryptography, giving users the security of knowing that their personal information will not be shared without their explicit consent.

The Freedom Network, and the flood of similar services soon to come, are the future of online privacy and safety. Check it out now and you can write me using one of your "nyms" to thanks me later.
