Look upon Companion Care as a tax producerCompanion care should be looked upon as a way to keep the disabled employed. Over a year ago the necessity for these helpers was made evident to me when I had surgery on my foot. I was laid up and unable to walk without the aid of a walker and driving was out of the question because my foot was in a cast and had to be elevated at all times. Because of this situation, it was necessary for me to have someone to help me get dressed. This temporary disability started me to remember the times I had heard people with no disabilities complain about having to fund companion helpers for the disabled in need of them. now the main functionof these helpers is to insure that these disabled individuals get can go to work and pay taxes. Now what will happen to these disabled taxpayers should near sited officials refuse to fund companion help? I'll tell you they will cease to be taxpayers and forced to depend upon handouts from government. Should this happen think of all the lost revenue government would incur. Think of the unneeded burden that this will impose upon the rest of the taxpayers. Then ask yourself this how is this saving taxpayer money when these myopic officials make tax users out of those who used to be taxpayers. Should it not be these officials primary duty to do all they can to increase revenue not decrease it by placating uneducated voters for the purpose of reelection. Placation simply for the vote will in fact decrease government revenue and thereby increase the tax burden on all. So shouldn't Companion CARE be looked upon not as an unfunded mandate but rather as a means of increasing revenue? Remember the more people we have employed them the more money we have to help those who can't help themselves. Also remember the more taxpayers we produce then the less the tax burden will be on all.
