To Be A Conservative Liberal or not To Be That Is the Question:
This is the only political thought that will help change the status quo.
Let’s explore these two thoughts. Conservative political thought is solely about the wise use of money not about political change and Liberalism is about needed political change. The spending of money to elicit this change is where the Liberal and the Conservative disagree. The Liberal optimistic approach says spend the money now while the Conservative pessimistic approach says don’t spend it because it will not elicit the desired changes in the status quo. Conservatives believe that this change must occur for money spent to be money wisely spent. They therefore steadfastly maintain don’t spend funds on many issues until you can prove to us that the money spent will elicit the desired change in the status quo. Also don’t spend money on social issues until you can definitely prove that the money spent will change the status quo now and for future generations to come. For the status quo to change, Liberals must convince the Pessimistic conservative that their ideas are needed and that they will elicit the desired change in the status quo. We have to show how spending of money now, not later, will benefit this generation as well as those to come. If Liberals can convince the Conservatives that money spent on social issues is money well spent then Conservatives will support our ideas because they will consider the money to be wisely spent not money frivolously spent. Until Liberals accomplish this then there will be a constant disagreement between Conservatives and Liberals philosophies. So long as this disagreement exist the nothing of great importance will happen to change the status quo and needed changes in social issues will never happen. To elicit needed changes in the status quo, the Liberals must do the following: 1. They must convince Conservative leaders that their ideas are right. 2.They have to show how money spent in the short term will effect changes in the status quo that will benefit generations far into the future. 3. They have to show how these changes will cause the perceived problem to cease to exist. Go To Page: 1 2
