Have the Civil Rights of the Disabled been violated?

Do we still have discrimination against the disabled?

Before we can determine this, we must know the definitions for the following because they may be indicators of acts of civil rights discrimination. They are the following: Civil Rights, Discrimination, Prejudice, Prejudicial, Unfair and Unjust.

A. Civil Rights relates to the non-political rights or personal liberty that have been guaranteed to all citizens, not just some, by government.

B. Discrimination is the act, practice, or an instance of discriminating categorically rather than individually.

C. Prejudicial is anything that is intended to injure or impair. It is also a judgment, which may lead to a premature or unwarranted opinion.

D. Prejudice is an irrational attitude of hostility directed toward an individual, a group or a race.

E. Unfair means marked by injustice, Partiality, or deception.

F. Unjust is that which can be characterized by injustice or by Dishonesty.

Things that may contribute to a violation of one's civil rights

I. Prejudice or prejudicial thoughts or acts of hostility that are directed toward a group or a race and which tend to be characterized by irrational thoughts which may lead to acts of hostility.

II. Acts of overt or covert discrimination that are carried out against a group of people or a race of people whose intent may be to injure or inflict harm. Such acts may be the results of premature or unwarranted opinions.

III. Irrational thoughts or belief’s which tend to deny people their non-political rights as citizens.

Can we now conclude that the disabled have had their civil rights violated?

Yes, we can, because in many countries it appears that the disabled have been denied their non-political rights or their human rights by government. Furthermore it may be concluded that these denials may have been irrationally per-determined by governments who may view the disabled as being unemployable.

World Wide our population is estimated to be over 500,000,000 strong and growing, however many of us lack those basic human rights which are freely given to the non-disabled. Also many of us may be unemployed or underemployed because of the irrational acts of governments.

If governments are allowed to act in such an irrational fashion then won't their actions cause the general populace to look upon us with disdain? If citizens are allowed to look upon us in this fashion won't they consider us to be expendable? Such an attitude could result in acts of hostility which could inflict injury, harm or even death. Should this occur and it appears to have already happened in some countries then has not one criteria been met for violation of civil rights? Is not this criterion irrational thoughts or beliefs which tend to deny people their non-political or human rights as citizens?
