There are three Rights which all people through out the world are supposed to possess. They are Life, Liberty, and Property according tp John Locke,of the English Revolution, or Life Liberty and Fraternity according to Rousseau of the French Revolution.
Unfortunately these Rights appear to have been denied or taken away from the disabled, in many countries, and mine is no exception. Supposedly my country protected our Rights when it passed a landmark piece of legislation called ADA.
Did this piece of legislation protect our Rights? It appears that it may have made things worse for us because it hasn't been fully implemented, and it appears that those opposed granting us our Rights of Self determination, are poised to have ADA declared Unconstitutional. If this were to happen just think what would happen to the Rights of the disabled,in my country, or for that matter throughout the Earth. I'll tell you if ADA is declared to be Unconstitutional then no person with a disability, Worldwide, will have any Rights. Why because if my country denies her disabled their Inalienable Rights then many world governments will follow suit since many claim to have laws which parallel ADA.
If the disabled are determined to have no rights; then what's to prevent those opposed to our Rights from trying to eliminate us completely? All that's needed is for some monstrous leader, like the perpetuator of WWII ,to arise. If such a leader were to arise, then the World would see a Holocaust much greater than that seen in WWII. If such a leader were to arise then the disabled and the elderly better watch their backs because they were the first to be declared non productive citizens who deserved to be eliminated in the name of Nationalism.
If the disabled,throughout the Earth don't want something like this to happen then they should unite for the Common good. United they might show leaders that there is a much better way to help us than to simply pigeonhole us and place us on some type of government assistance.
United we could pool our resources. The greatest resource we have is our sheer voting power which could either make or break a politician or a government. United we could make our voices be heard so that there would never be a repeat of the human devastation which took place during WWII.
