Redbook on Employment AssistanceAs most of us with disabilities know it can sometimes take months if not years to qualify for governmental disability assistance programs. Jumping numerous hoops, consulting with lawyers and finally receiving financial assistance is something that many of us strive for. However once you do qualify there are some of us who do consider the possibility of re-entering the work force either on a part time basis or if our medical circumstances change, full time. Since this is usually a large step for any of us to contemplate it is a step that shouldn’t be taken lightly. The financial ramifications must be carefully considered since an unsuccessful job re-entry could require you to start the process from the beginning if you don’t follow the rules and regulations. The Social Security Administration has provided several online tools at the Redbook on Work Incentives website. This site will explain the details that you will need to attempt a job re-entry, outlining how your current benefits (SSDI, Medicare) will be affected, and how you can retain your system status while attempting your job re-entry. Do you require vocational training or possibly employment support systems to enable you to have a successful job re-entry? This site can provide you with the scoop on those important details as well. They have outlined all governmental programs available to disabled persons wishing to attempt a work entry or re-entry basically making this a one stop shopping website for services that we would require. Secondly this site also is a gateway to “Project Able” a government employment program for the disabled. Project Able actively recruits within both the private and public sectors for employers wishing to employ the disabled. Tapping into this valuable resource will help to minimize the failure risk of your job entry/reentry. Hopefully this site will prove to be a valuable resource for those of you considering the possibility of returning to work. If so.....happy Job Hunting!
