Many of you out there have children that would love to take in the sights at Disneyland or Epcot Center. Yet many of you also shudder at the thought of making the arrangements for such a trip. Even with disability access to most attractions at these theme parks you find yourself waiting in inevitable line-ups with the kids yelling "are we there yet"? I suspect most of us would prefer a root canal at the dentist office in lieu of waiting in the Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom lineup!
Disney has always had an excellent disability access program where you can obtain a disability pass to their theme parks, which pushes you and your party to the front of the line. Just bring a letter or note from your physician stating your disability/impairment and difficulty with line ups to the Park, visit "City Hall" and they can issue you a disability card that will make your visit more pleasurable. However some attractions have been made disability friendly and you'll still have to sit in line-ups, some of which could be extremely long. Situations like this have now improved due to a new program that Disney has put in place in their Parks. This program is called the FastPass Program. . Upon entering the Park you'll receive a map of the park listing which attractions are in the FastPass Program. Visit the attraction you wish to participate in and each member of your party will insert their FastPass card into a turnstile to receive a designated RETURN time. When you return, proceed directly to the pre-show or boarding area and you gain immediate admission to that particular attraction. Both the Disability Program and the FastPass Program are free to Park visitors. For further information on this new FastPass Program just visit their website Here . Hopefully this new program will make visit's to their Parks more enjoyable to those of us who don't have the stamina to handle both the rides and the waits.
