Answering Nagging DoubtsEveryone has medical questions - those nagging doubts that usually arrive after you've just visited your local physician and forgot to ask that question you swore you wouldn't forget, or the question that popped into your mind after you've finally digested all the information your doctor just told you. It's just a little question, not enough to phone your doctor's office and schedule a second appointment for. Once again the Internet can come to your rescue. Ask Physican's.com is a relative newcomer to the online world where you can ask those simple questions you forgot to ask. At this time their list of message bases where you can post these nagging doubts is limited, but the potential is there for more specialties to develop in the future on this site. So, what you do is post your question in one of their messages bases, wait a day or two, log back in and voilĂ ! a board-certified specialist in the field has taken the time to answer you. Don't forget to print both your question and the answer out for that next doctor's visit so you can discuss the situation with him/her! It will certainly work better than that post-it note you plastered on your forehead reminding your doctor that you have some concerns you wish to discuss with him/her. A second service that Ask Physican's.com is developing is a database of board certified doctors listed by specialty. This area of their site seems to be more developed with inclusion of more diverse areas of specialty. This handy service could be used as a starting point for patients to locate a doctor within there geographically region. Remember, once you get a list, take it to your local patient support group and compare notes with others who share your medical concern. Sometimes other patients can provide you with valuable insights regarding doctors. All in all, I find this new web site an interesting and valuable addition to the net. Once they expand their areas of expertise more of us will benefit from the services this site is willing to provide. Ask Physicans.com is definitely worth bookmarking and visiting occasionally to see what new services they are providing. Suite 101 Disability Mailing List For those of you who need a gentle reminder when a new article is posted, or would like to be notified when a new link is put up, I have developed a notification e-mail list which would have you receiving three to four more e-mails a month. If you want to be put on this mailing list, just click on my EMAIL link at the top of this page and drop me a line with your e-mail address and I would be happy to add you. You don't have to be a member of Suite101 for this service.
