Be nice to yourself! If you still have money left over from the holidays, now is the time to get that massage you've always wanted. Or if there is no money left over, buy some nicely scented candles (they don't have to be expensive ones) and use them! It's amazing what a nice vanilla-scented candle can do for your soul. Aromatherapy stores are springing up everywhere, so ask the salesclerks for suggested scents you might use. Play music you enjoy. Treat yourself to that book you've never had time to sit down and peruse. Sign up for that night school course you've been putting off. In general, take time for yourself! You deserve it! Plan a post-holiday blues party. After all, everyone is in the same boat. It will give you all something to look forward to during the dull month of January. Celebrate the Blues!
I hope these suggestions will help to minimize the impact of your post-holiday letdown. You'll have to excuse me now...I have to light my vanilla-scented candle and I'm going to get that dried out turkey wishbone out of the kitchen and attempt to wish myself in Hawaii. :) Depression Links Seasonal Affective Disorder Information Mental Health Information Suite 101 Disability Mailing List For those of you who need a gentle reminder when a new article is posted, or would like to be notified when a new link is put up, I have developed a notification e-mail list which would have you receiving three to four more e-mails a month.
