A few weeks ago, I talked about one of the most prestigious movie award programs in the industry--the Cannes Film Festival. And, of course, there are the Oscars and the Sundance Film Festival. Both very famous and important events in the film industry. To say that the award program on June 10 is not your ordinary award program is a gross understatement.
Yes, the MTV Movie Awards honors the best actor, best actress, and best film. But they go beyond that to catagories that the Academy is not likely to adopt in the near future. Best action sequence? Best kiss? Best fight? Best villian? No, I doubt we will be seeing these catagories next year at Cannes. Many of the movies and some of the actors and actress that were nominated for an Oscar this year are represented here as well. But when was the last time you remember the Academy nominating a dog or a doll? Let's look at some of the catagories and nominees.
