Processing or Renaming Files by the Batch - Convert Multiple Photo Files, e.g. jpg, tif, or png automated

  • To import files from a digital camera or scanner, or from a PDF file, choose Import and make the appropriate selection in the From drop-down list. (The options available in the From drop-down list depend upon which plug-in-modules are installed on your computer.)
  • To process all of the files currently open in Photoshop Elements, choose Opened Files.
  • To convert size and/or resolution, click in the Convert Image Size checkbox and then do one or all of the following:
    • Type the desired width (in pixels) in the Width (in pixels) field.
    • Type the desired height (in pixels) in the Height (in pixels) field.
    • Choose the desired resolution from the Resolution drop-down list.
    NOTE: Click in the Constrain Aspect Ratio checkbox to maintain the photograph's aspect ratio. (The aspect ratio is the relationship between the width and the height of an image; the ratio must be constrained to avoid distorting a picture.)
  • To choose or create a destination folder for the resized files, click on the Destination button under the Output Options heading and navigate to the appropriate folder or create a new folder.
  • Click on OK.

    Batch Renaming Using the Batch Processing Dialog Box

    1. Choose Batch Processing from the File menu.
    2. Make a selection from the Files to Convert drop-down list, based on the following:
      • If all of the files you wish to convert are stored in a single folder together, choose Folder and then click the Source button to navigate to and select the folder. Click in the Include All Subfolders checkbox if you wish to process files located in subfolders within the selected folder as well.

      • To process all of the files currently open in Photoshop Elements, choose Opened Files.
    3. To rename the files, click in the Rename Files checkbox and specify your naming options. Keep in mind the following:
      • Select items from the pop-up menus or enter text into the fields to be combined into the default names for all files. Elements include document name, serial number or letter, file creation date, and file extension. The fields let you change the order and formatting of the filename parts. You must include at least one field that is unique for every file (for example, filename, serial number, or serial
