Solution to Female Detective Writers

This is the solution to last week's quiz titled "Female Detective Fiction/Suspense Writers."

The writers who were listed were Agatha Christie, Catherine Coulter, Josephine Tey, Sara Paretsky, Mary Higgins Clark, and Mary Roberts Rinehart.

1. The answer to number one is Josephine Tey. She is an early Detective Fiction writer. She was born in 1896. Her famous private investigator is Alan Grant.

2. The answer to number two is Mary Higgins Clark. She is known as the "Queen of Suspense." She wrote "A Cry In The Night," and others.

3. The answer to number three is Agatha Christie. Her Detectives are Tommy and Tuppence, Hercule Poirot, and Miss Jane Marple. She wrote "Dead Man's Folly," "The Unexpected Guest," and many more.

4. The answer to number four is Sara Paretsky. Her famous Detective is V.I. Warshawski. Her famous books are "Tunnel Vision, "Deadlock," "Killing Orders," and others.

5. The answer to number five is Mary Roberts Rinehart. She is another early writer. She wrote "The Circular Staircase," "The Door," and several others. She is famous for her suspense stories.

6. The last one is Catherine Coulter. She has written several types of stories. Her newest ones are the FBI series. They are the following. "The Cove," "The Maze," "The Target," "The Edge," and the latest book is titled, "Riptide." This book is only in hardback.
