Mary Higgins Clark is known as "The Queen of Suspense." Her first book I read and did a review on was "A Cry In The Night." This book was very exciting and suspenseful. When I started reading "Moonlight Becomes You," I thought it would be the same way. However, it wasn't. This book seemed to have lost the excitement and suspense that was in "A Cry In The Night." It was a rather dull book.
The language is clean and wholesome, but the plot needs something added to it to make it more exciting and suspenseful. The plot seems to drag. However, I have noticed in Mary Higgins Clark's books that she writes one scene and changes abruptly to another scene. She leaves the reading hanging and wondering what will happen next. This helps the element of suspense to build. I especially noticed this in her book "A Cry In The Night."
On a 1 to 10 scale, with 10 being the highest, I'd rate this books as a 4. I'd be interested in hearing comments from others who have read "Moonlight Becomes You."
I have other books by Mary Higgins Clark that I'm eager to read and review. I hope there are others like "A Cry In The Night."
