This is a book review of "The Regatta Mystery and Other Stories" by Agatha Christie. I have started reading Detective fiction books by Agatha Christie. Her famous Detectives are Miss Marple, Hercule Poirot, Mr. Parker Pyne, and Tommy and Tuppence.
"The Regatta Mystery and Other Stories" is a collection of short stories that feature three of her famous Detectives: Miss Marple, Hercule Poirot, and Mr. Parker Pyne. The stories included in this book are the following: "The Regatta Mystery," "The Mystery of the Bagdad Chest," "How Does Your Garden Grow?," "Problem at Pollensa Bay," "Yellow Iris," "Miss Marple Tells a Story," "The Dream," "In a Glass Darkly," and "Problem at Sea."
I really enjoyed reading this collection of short stories. My favorite ones were "The Regatta Mystery" and "The Mystery of the Bagdad Chest" because I had a better understanding of what was happening in those stories. . All of the stories were well written. Each story had a well developed plot and was full of suspense. Once I started reading a story, I wanted to keep reading until I finished that particular story. I enjoy reading Agatha Christie's books because she doesn't use the bad language that is found in other books such as the Hard-Boiled Detective fiction books..
Agatha Christie also uses shocker endings, which means that readers will be surprised at the end of the story. Readers may think they know who has committed the crime, but they are caught off guard when the real suspect is convicted of the crime.
I would recommend this book who wants to read Detective Fiction books.
