Mike and Laurie are driving from New York to Oshbee Lake, which was forty miles from Milwaukee. They were going to spend some time in his grandmother's cabin. Since she passed away, the cabin was up for sale, but he was allowed to take her there for a vacation. Laurie had been having nightmares. This was a result of the way her grandmother raised her. She tried to get Laurie to be afraid of different things. Laurie wanted to be normal and not let her grandmother's teachings influence her. However, some things have influenced her, and Laurie became depressed. Mike started taking her to a psychiatrist to help her. Her doctor felt like it would be a good idea to take Laurie there. However, he didn't want Mike to leave her alone. With the lake nearby, he was afraid of what Laurie might do. When they arrive, they entered the cabin and turned on some lights. After that, they fixed supper and went to bed. They slept in his grandmother's bed. About 3:00 AM, Laurie started shrieking and didn't stop sobbing until morning. They started looking at the different pieces of furniture and other things that Mike's grandmother had in her cabin. Mike's father told him that they could take whatever they wanted. They found an old Victrola and some records. Mike put on a record, and after a few minutes, Laurie started screaming and wanted him to turn it off. She couldn't handle it anymore. Later on, they went upstairs to bed. When Mike woke up, Laurie wasn't in the bed. He thought she might be in the bathroom or downstairs in the kitchen. He searched the house, but she wasn't there. He knew something happened to Laurie, but he wasn't sure what. He finally had to call the police to investigate her disappearance. Mike was worried about her. What happened to Laurie? What caused her to leave the house, or did she leave? Will they find Laurie? Now, you'll have to read the story to find out what happened to Laurie. Go To Page: 1 2
