This is a book review of "Dark Water Dive" by Kathy Brandt. If you are interested in a great mystery, you will enjoy this book.
The main detective, Hannah Simpson, left her home in Colorado for the British Virgin Islands for the summer. She reported to the Tortola Police Department. That's when she was faced with murder and all kinds of trouble. First, a man named Allen Robsen was missing. Nobody knew what happened to him. After searching for awhile, Hannah put on her skin diving suit and dove into the water. That's where she found the corpse. She thought it might be Allen Robsen. After an investigation, the police found out the man was Robsen. Their next problem was to find out who had killed him and why. While down in the sea, they saw dead sharks with their fins removed. That brought them to another case besides the death of Robsen. Who was killing the sharks and taking the fins? Why were they doing that? The area contained several large boats, which would take awhile to investigate the people and the boats. However, they started their search. In the middle of the book, Hannah began listing the different suspects and their motives. This helps readers to see what the detectives are thinking about the different people and the possible reasons people might have to commit murder. Later on, Ursala Downing had called Hannah to meet with her at her house. Ursala sounded like it was very important. When Hannah arrived, Ursala wasn't there. Hannah opened the door and pulled out her gun. She carefully looked around the house. Suddenly, Hannah was hit on the head. She was unconscious for awhile. When she came to, she noticed that she was bleeding. She managed to get up and walk around. She looked out a window and saw two figures. One of the figures left. She went after the other one, but she didn't catch him. She still didn't know where Ursala was or what happened to her. Was she murdered, or did she just not show up? Maybe it was a trick to have Hannah attacked and scared off from any further investigation of the murder of Robsen and the people who were destroying the sharks? Maybe it was because she was from the United States and not an Islander? Now, you'll have to read the book to find out what happened to Hannah. This is the second book by Kathy Brandt. The first book is "Swimming with the Dead." Go To Page: 1
