As I said in the tagline, there are famous places and there are places of power in every world, even our own. Stonehenge, the Bermuda Triagle, Easter Island, and more. There are places that people say the psychic energy is palpable, and there are simply places that everyone knows of, such as Disneyworld. A fantasy world only enhances this fact and naming every place right off the bat isn't economical or very fun. Instead I have decided to simply start out with 3 places of power and 3 famoud places for each continent.
Places of power are somewhat different from famous places, they may or may not be well known. They can be guarded or hoarded by powerful beings. Places of power are usually conduits for powerful magics or psionics or simply enough they are the most strategic place an army can be. For Stribu I have chosen a place called Volcanic Island to represent a place of great magical powers that come directly from fire. Also I have chosen Mages Island were perhaps a group of or a single mage lives well defended. And finally I have chosen an Island of the Speaking Dead. This is an island where anyone can speak with the departed or perhaps meet them. Each land is placed under different circumstances and each has to be scrutinized accordingly. Making a flying island on Ontainia woul be a spectacle but the explanations would perhaps get too far fetched. Putting a volcano on Sersin would surely turn it into another Pompeii. So When creating places of power think of the impact and the accessibility of the places. Famous places would hav a large number of people generally going to them if there is a large populace. Overcrowding is a problem even in today's world. In Georgia you can pass by the line of people waiting to get into Disney World.
