Suicidal?

© Dena Lambert

If you are feeling like suicide is the only answer to your problems, consider the following:
What if you don't succeed and you leave your loved ones with the unnecessary burden of taking care of you ... wondering why you didn't ask for help ... blaming themselves?

What if you don't succeed and you end up hooked up to life support machines and your loved ones have to decide whether or not to take you off? Or you are on life support for the rest of your life, aware of what's going on around you, but unable to speak or move.

What if you don't succeed and cause brain damage ending up drooling all over yourself, or soiling yourself in a mental hospital for the rest of your life?

Would you really want your loved ones to see you this way? Maybe you wouldn't be aware of what was going on, but then again maybe you would. Not pretty is it?

Then, on the other hand what if you do succeed?

Who will have the horrifying experience of finding your body?

Who will clean up the mess?

Who will the police have to call to identify your body?

Who will take the burden of guilt upon themselves because they think they should've seen the signs? Who's heart will you be breaking?

Think about all of this! Is your problem really worth all of this? I have been suicidal and I know how those feelings seem to take over your mind and cause you to see things in a much darker light. I've been there many times, but it always passes. I always feel stronger once seeing that I was able to make it through alive ... and I'm always glad I had the strength to deal with my problems instead of finding a permanent solution to something so temporary. Your problems usually don't look so monstrous in the morning.

Suicide is running away from your pain ... from your problems. Please get help (there is help available)! Tell someone! No problem is so horrible that only death can end it!
