Add a Toothbrush to your Back-to-School ListYou've got the notebooks, the pencils, and the new pencil box. You've got the cool clothes, the stylin'shoes, and even the new underwear. But your have forgotten one thing-a new toothbrush! Think about it. When is the last time you bought a new toothbrush for every member of your family? Two months? Four months? Or maybe more? Dental professionals recommend purchasing a new toothbrush at least every three months. After three months, the bristles of soft toothbrushes are pretty well worn and do not do an effective job of removing plaque. Some individuals will need to replace brushes sooner than three months if the brush shows signs of SPLAYING-a condition where the bristles spread out and stay that way. Researchers agree that toothbrushes should also be replaced after a person contracts a virus or bacterial infection, as to prevent re-infection or infecting an unsuspecting child that grabs the wrong brush! So-grab your shopping list and be sure to add "TOOTHBRUSHES" in big, bold letters! And while you're at it, don't forget the floss! Happy flossing!
