Danish people© Britt Koch Franczek-Pedersen
Two days ago I sat foot on Danish ground for the first time in two years. In those two years I have been living in Arizona, USA.
As I promised in my discussion pages last week, this article will be about Danish people so I have spent a lot of my time these last couple of days observing people trying to notice any differences from last I was here.... Things surely have changed! Or maybe I have....???
Making friends in Denmark might seem hard. People might not seem as open and outgoing as people from southern Europe. It might even seem like Danes are somewhat scared. But once you get a Dane talking they are very helpful and down to Earth people. Danes do not seem at all superficial and they are always ready for a chat and a cup of coffee or a cold beer..... Why do Danes seem scared and hard to approach at first you may ask..?? I am not really sure and you also have to realize that everything in this article is based on an all-personal experience. But having been wondering about this for years I have had the opportunity to discuss this question with many Danes and I must admit that I heard a lot of interesting theories. One of these theories is about the weather: 'Being situated in the northern part of Europe Denmark is blessed with the experience of all four seasons. Winters being cold and rainy with some snow, spring being mild and the season where everything comes back to life, summers being rather unpredictable with both rain, heat and mild weather and fall with its beautiful colours but again also a lot of rain and wind.
