At the end of Stroeget you will find Nyhavn (New Harbor), a place which years back made Denmark an internationally important junction for maritime trade. Today Nyhavn is a very popular place to hang out. Sit at one of the many cafés; drink a Carlsberg or Tuborg, two of Denmark's native beers while enjoying the spectacular view of the old boats lying at anchor. The old houses are all maintained in their original shapes and colors sparking the interest of all the people walking by. Or maybe you would prefer to see Copenhagen from the waterside? Then you can go on a canal tour in one of the open tourist boats taking you around to see some of Copenhagen's major attractions like the statue of The Little Mermaid, The Residence of the Danish Royal Family, The Royal Garden and some of the older parts of Copenhagen.

Copenhagen also offers a vide variety of nightlife with its many cafés, movie theatres and discos. There is always something going on and since most of the dance clubs don't close until 5 a.m. in the morning nightlife is known to start late but go on until dawn. Copenhagen isn't the only city in Denmark known for entertainment. Every year, the Roskilde Music Festival is held in the city of Roskilde, drawing thousands of people from all over the world.

Outside the big city you can enjoy the forests, Lego-land, some of the many castles or museums, parks, old buildings, little village style churches, the Zoo or the Botanical Garden. Take time to visit Bakken, another Amusement Park where they even offer to take you around in a horse cart! If you like to be active on your vacation, Denmark is also a perfect place to ride a bike. In fact, you can plan your entire vacation based on your bike if you prefer. There is always a hostel, hotel or a motel close to your destination, offering Old World charm and modern elegance.

Don't worry about getting around in Denmark. There is an organized network of busses and trains running constantly covering about every little corner of the country. Even at night you can catch a night bus or a night train and if for some reason you are in a place where you can not get hold of one you can always call a taxi. They will take you anywhere you want to go, any time you want to go there.
