Seasons hold memories for most people. For Danes, Denmark and Danish culture it is no different. There are certain things that make the season of summer special - from music, fashion and food to pre-Christian spiritual celebrations and sporting events.

Just some of those things include the celebration of Midsummer and its beach bonfires that hearken back to Denmark's pagan heritage; the annual Copenhagen Jazz Festival, the Copenhagen International Fashion Show, the picking of strawberries and the ripening of asparagus, the joy of staying in a Danish summerhouse for the season, the family camping tradition, the Roskilde Festival and all the summer festivals across the land...and much more!

Over the few months I will explore some of them and evoke a few memories - as well as inspire some new travels plans by sharing some great summer travel itineraries!
