GRACIE'S Dream Room! - Page 2

After getting everything setup, I surprised Lupe with something Graciela had specifically asked for, a canopy for her bed. I used a lampshade and covered it in a pink satin fabric. Then I took white sheer fabric and attached pink and yellow silk daisies randomly to it. Afterwards, I attached the fabric to the inside of the shade. Next I used fishing line and attached it to the shade and tied the other end to a couple of hooks in the ceiling. The fishing line is not only strong but seems to disappear from view! This method also makes it easy to take with you if you move and the only hole to repair is from the hook!

The finished product was a beautiful room fit for a princess. Mom was more than happy with the way things turned out. But would Graciela like it? Well, when she came home, mom had her close her eyes until in the room. Having her face the bed, she told her to open her eyes. It was a moment for the movies. With eyes and mouth opened wide she squealed out loud, "Oh Mommy, it's beautiful." Then, buring her face in her mom's waist, continued, "Thank you! Thank you! I love you so much!" It was a great day!
