Politics Schmolitics

Take 500 Bush! Put out 500 Gore! No , now we need to short Bush and go long Gore. No time to change again! Confusing isn't it. If you are like me you're sick of all of it. Yet we can enjoy the confusion in our jobs as unfeeling mercenaries(traders). The confusion adds to volatility and that adds to our wallets. As a trader that is all we are concerned about. We don't care about the implications for the drug sector if one or the other gets in.

As an investor I have to sell my drug stocks if Gore is the guy, hold em if Bush gets in( that is not an endorsement of either party, just analysis). As a trader my view is much shorter, and feelings about either guy don't enter into it. Don't get me wrong I am a very politically passionate guy. I'll be upset if my guy doesn't get in and I'll cry and plot our next campaign( yes I'm a republican). Then 5 minutes later I'll I will be thinking about what will make the whole thing profitable for my trading account. I am a trader plain and simple. As a trader you learn that you don't have a home team, you don't get behind a stock and cheer for it and you have no problem shorting anything. That can often make us an unpopular lot with many people, but that's life. That's my job and I love it. I consider myself a thoughtful, caring person but if you get up against me on a trade I'll crush you. Nothing personal it's just what I do. If you can't think in those terms then this is not the career for you. that doesn't mean you can't be in the market as an investor it just means that you won't make it as a trader.

Use this election weirdness to profit from the uncertainty. Feed on the fear and increased volatility. Crush the weak!! Then go and volunteer at an organization to help those you've crushed.

Trading is extremely risky and not for everyone. Please consult a professional.
