Open For Business

Basic Black is open for business and a new rivalry has begun. John and Kate intend to take on Victor and Titan and take over as Salem's biggest corporate venture.

The storyline also has some signs that Kate and John will be getting a lot closer. Whether that will be a friendship or more than that remains to be seen. Kate and John have always had a good chemistry with each other but should they be more than friends? And what of John's undying love for Marlena? I personally like the idea of them becoming good friends and I think they can make this business a huge successs, if they can get past Kate's ties to Victor.

Victor isn't just going to sit still and let them run all over him and Titan. He will most certainly fight back and it will lead to probably many ugly fights among John, Kate, Victor, Nicole, Brady, Phillip. They all are tied together and becoming rivals will lead to a lot of family infighting I think.

The first battle will be over this new company Permalash that both Titan and Basic Black are trying to buy. It will surely lead to confrontations with John and Victor and Kate and Nicole. And it is the Kate and Nicole confrontations are what will drive this story. They have had a rivalry going back a long ways and it is always good soap opera to watch the two of them go at it. This storyline will be filled with lots of tension between these two and that's always good for the fans.

Victor and Kate will have to deal with not only the business rivalry but the fact that Phillip is pressing for them to be reunited as a family. It will be awfully hard for Victor to have warm romantic feelings for Kate if she is working every day to undo his company. This will also frustrate Phillip even more as he sees his parents as bitter business rivals to make matters even worse. Nicole will figure into this story as well as Phillip already holds her relationship with Victor as somewhat responsible for breaking up his family. When he sees her involved in the battles with his mother he will blame her even more.

It remains to be seen which of these Salem businesses will come out on top but the getting there will be fun for all to watch. There's nothing like a big soap rivalry to get the fans tuned in. So let the battle begin!
