The biggest rumor making the rounds it that there is a spinoff of Days called Salem High in the works. The spinoff would involve the teens of Days and perhaps Jack and Jen. The facts of this rumor are that this hasn't been written in any form and that NBC is not interested in another soap opera. However, the rumors persist because the execs at Days keep talking about this "proposed" spinoff in the press every chance they get and the rumors that ABC may be in the market for another soap if Port Charles is cancelled. But why would ABC want a show that is based on Days characters??? Makes no sense. I think this rumor is just so much hot air.
The next rumor is that a teen will either die or be pregnant this summer or both. I haven't read anything that makes this any more than a rumor. The teens will be involved in a big summer storyline but there is nothing coming out of that about anyone dying or getting pregnant.
Another rumor making the rounds is that Billie Reed will return either this summer or early fall in the form of Lisa Rinna. This rumor has been going around for quite a while now and neither the show nor the actress has confirmed it.
Rumors are also flying that Days has been trying to secure some new writers but the deals are falling through. I think this one is true and I was hopeful that they could get some new writers and fresh ideas.
Still more rumors are that Lucas will return this summer, Marlena will be kidnapped(AGAIN), Hattie will take over Marlena's life, Isabella will return alive and well and that Abe is Brandon's father. None of which have turned out to be anything but rumors!
If there is one thing for sure, soap operas are surrounded by rumors. And the Internet has made it possible to spread rumors at the speed of light! But always remember my saying about rumors, if you have not seen it confirmed by the show or the actor involved it is still a rumor. But it sure is fun to read them!
