The fans have waited a long time for Belle and Shawn to realize they are meant for each other and it looks like the wait is starting to end. Finally they will go on a real date!

As soon as the show chose to age Shawn and Belle fans knew that these two were destined to be a couple. But Days being Days, fans also knew they might be in for a long wait to see that happen. Shawn and Belle have been dancing around anything that resembles a romantic relationship for months and months. But finally Shawn has asked Belle to the Last Blast Dance, finally a real date!

Now I don't think this means they will be plunged into a relationship right away, quite the contrary. This is just the first step on a very long road. But at least it is a step in the right direction!

I hope that the show will give the fans at least a little payoff at the dance by either making Shawn and Belle the king and queen or have them share a little kiss. That would help hold the fans over until they make the next move in the relationship which knowing Days could be months away.

Shawn and Belle are the next generations Bo and Hope, even Stefano knows it. Long time fans remember how long the road to romance was for Bo and Hope so I think fans should be prepared for a long road for Shawn and Belle as well. With these two talented actors it should be an enjoyable road to watch if the fans can stand the waiting!
