Days took one of my favorite characters and turned her into a liar overnight. Chloe went from a character that was honest and forthright to someone who would tell a horrendous lie to get revenge in one scene. Why?!
Chloe has long been a character with many problems from her troubled upbringing, but telling the truth didn't seem to be one of them. She was never afraid to speak her mind and be brutally honest with everyone. But, in one scene she is reduced to claiming Phillip raped her out of revenge because she kept a secret from him. So, she repays one lie by telling another, and this one could ruin Phillip's life forever. I know that Chloe feels Phillip emotionally raped her because he is the first person she has ever really trusted in her entire life. Phillip not telling Chloe that Victor was alive, and having her believe he was the grieving son was an awful lie, but accusing someone of the violent crime of rape is something else all together. Phillip's life could be forever ruined by just the mention of those words and all because Chloe seeks revenge. The show intends to have Chloe take back what she said and also have her subjected to a hospital exam to prove Phillip innocent, but not until he is arrested and word of this accusation makes the rounds in Salem. Nancy will not believe that Phillip is innocent until after the exam and by that time Phillip's life could be harmed beyond repair. And the show has done all this in order to get Chloe closer to Brady? Could they not have come up with something a little less damaging to Phillip and something that did not lessen the reality of rape, especially date rape? I have been a Chloe fan since she started on the show, but in one scene I have become much less a fan of this character. If this is the direction in which the show is going to take her, I don't want to go there with her. There are already too many characters on soaps who spread lies to get revenge and Days in particular is full of them! Fans don't need another one just to move the story along. Come up with some fresh ideas and keep fans tuning in. The quicker this rape lie is resolved the better! I just wish it hadn't been used in the first place. Go To Page: 1 2
