The first storyline is the body under the ice. Most reports have said that the body will turn out to be the dead Marlo. This will cause Lexie no end of stress and strain and of course the person she will run to is dearest daddy Stefano. How long will it take for Lexie to show her true Dimera roots and get daddy to do away with this evidence? How long will it take for the truth about the babies to come out? I wouldn't hold my breath waiting if I were you.
I have a feeling that this story will lead the way to several other stories. The baby switch, the true story of the death of Marlo, the Dimera side of Lexie emerging, a strain on the Carvers' marriage leading to a possible new fling with Abe and Fay. All of which make for good soap opera. Drama by the tons with these storylines. Of course the show could take a year or two to resolve any or all of these stories so we may be waiting for a good long while for any of the secrets to come out.
The other story line involves the mysterious can. Months ago it was rumored that the can had some kind of supernatural ties to it, but that storyline was basically dropped in favor of the ridiculous garden story. Now the can has resurfaced and rumor has it that Shawn and Belle will be working to decipher the writings on it. This could lead to all kinds of trouble if the rumors of supernatural ties turn out to be true. It could be interesting, but only if there are different writers doing that story than have done the horrible garden of eden story line.
So we have two new storylines that can lead to all kinds of other stories being told. I am actually looking forward to the Marlo story and what unfolds from that. I am not sure yet about the can, but I hope it can be something interesting as well. Only time will tell.
