Best And Worst Of 2000

Well it's that time of year, a time to look back and reflect on what has happened over the past year. The good, the bad and the downright ugly. So let's get started.

BEST STORYLINE

This year's best storyline was the Nancy/Chloe mother daughter story. From the beginning the story showcased the talents of both actresses. The story showed that Nancy is more than comic relief and that Chloe would be a force in the teen aspect of the show. The story brought out a lot of emotions for Nancy and Chloe, some of which they are still working through, and it was very touching to watch.

WORST STORYLINE

Hands down, no competition, and possibly the worst storyline on ANY soap this year, the Virtual Garden. This storyline had terrible dialogue, worse special effects and bad acting. I do not know who dreamed up this plot line but I hope that no other big stories are handed over to them in the future. What a total disaster.

BEST COUPLE

Chloe and Phillip are the best couple on the show this year. They started out not liking each other and coming from totally different backgrounds. But they have grown into a really cute and sweet teen couple. I am rooting for them to be together for a long time.

WORST COUPLE

Austin and Sami were the worst couple this past year. After years of scheming and trying to get Austin away from her sister Carrie, they have NO chemistry when they end up together! What a waste of all those years of storyline and for what?! Nothing that's what.

BEST VILLIAN

Nicole Walker Roberts has turned into one of the best villians daytime has to offer. And she is a villian in the old tradition, no gimmicks or brain chips, just good old fashioned back stabbing and treachery. The kind soap fans tune in day after day to see who will be stabbed next. Nicole has become one of the most watchable characters in all of daytime and I can't wait to see what she does next.

BEST BREAKUP

The break up of John and Marlena is great soap opera. The storyline has shown both of them to be flawed characters and in need of help. What makes the breakup so great is that underneath all of the turmoil they truly love one another. It has been a great storyline.

I hope next year that there are many more bests than worsts. Happy New Year!
