Austin and Greta=Adam and Eve?

I have always known that Days is famous for doing things that are not quite reality based and the love of the supernatural is a long standing plot line on the show. But the newest rumors about the upcoming Austin and Greta story are just too ridiculous for words, but I have a few words to say about it anyway.

Austin and Greta are being force paired due to a lack of eligible partners in Salem. Sure they look good together but they are about as boring as watching paint dry. So the show is trying to spice things up for them and put them together in an outrageous situation to make them more exciting. But whomever thought this plot line up is definitely on the loopy side of sane.

The rumors say that Austin and Greta will embark on the adventure of winning Greta her title and money together. While on this adventure they will experience a fantasy garden of Eden scene that will include talking serpents and the resurrection of Princess Gina! Now I had hoped and prayed that Princess Gina was gone for good but no they have to bring her back! I can only hope it is a ghost or some such thing so she will go back shortly afterwards.

So Austin and Greta play Adam and Eve, the pure of heart mentioned in Prince Von Amberg's will. They talk to the serpent and probably Austin of little brains falls prey to temptation and it brings back that awful character Princess Gina. Oh the horror! Can soap writers not think of character driven stories rather than these over the top antics? It appears they can not.

Days is famous for supernatural, over the top stories but this is ridiculous. It seems that NBC has a real penchant for supernatural story lines. Passions is full of them, Days is keeping pace with their own stories and now there comes rumors that a new soap is under development for NBC that involves vampires, a modern Dark Shadows.

What happened to characters interacting with one another without the added shock value, unbelievable storylines? Why soaps think that good character based story lines won't work is beyond me. I would give anything for a good old fashioned romance story right about now. I keep hoping anyway. Until next time....
