Daylilies from East, West, North, and South
Daylilies from East, West, North, and South I traveled far on the Internet this month to bring you the best cultivars to grow in each area. My own opinion is that you should buy locally, but that is not always possible. So here are the best from the Net. Enjoy! Northeast
Pat Peterson presently gardening in Boston, Massachusetts send us his reflections.
He lives in Zone 6 and says that the best Daylilies for his garden are anything by Martian Kamensky. If Mr. Kamensky says it will rebloom, it will do so here. FROSTY LEMON PUFF rebloomed three times for him last season. Other favorites of his are LEN TY, JOY OF SPRING, GRECIAN PEARL, CHEERFUL DAYS, HOPI BRIDE, JOYFUL RETURN.
Note: I don't have any descriptions of these particular flowers.
South
Russ Johnson (Daylily Garden) of Louisville, Kentucky sends us a pretty good mix of expensive and not expensive Daylilies. He says the listed Daylilies are vigorous and trouble free.

Pacific North West Coastal Region
Dan Fitzpatrick from Vancouver Island writes that the Pacific Northwest Coastal Region is basically the same as his region. He said AHS Region 8 to mid California would be covered by these choices. The basic difference is that the north has a more temperate climate and no extremes such as heat. The temperature from February through April is much the same -- 46-55 degrees. The soil warms up in May and peak bloom is early mid July.
