Beauford Bambino Arrives!
As the official DMB Web site announced earlier this week, DMB drummer Carter Beauford and wife Karen gave birth to a healthy 7 pound, 9 ounce baby girl on Friday, October 5! The couple have named her Nadja Angelique. Congratulations, Carter and Karen! Dave Volunteers for USO Tour A Thursday article appearing in USA Today reports that Dave has volunteered his services for the just-organized USO Tour that will be headed to Bosnia, Kosovo, Korea and Bahrain in November. The tour will be headed up by Wayne Newton, who is replacing former tour leader Bob Hope whom is in too poor of health to perform. Other celebrities and entertainers who may be coming on board are Bill Cosby, Tom Hanks, the Dallas Cowboy cheer leaders, Miss America, Chris Rock, Halle Berry. As the article makes a point to mention, celebrities are not compensated for their services, participating on the tour is a volunteer effort. The USO, which has 117 centers and five mobile canteens worldwide for military personnel and their families, offers recreation and assistance to troops during war and peace times. Mule Release from ATO Rollingstone.com announced yesterday that Dave's ATO Records will release "The Deep End," the new album from Gov't Mule on October 23rd. The album features guest appearances by Phish's Page McConnell and Mike Gordon.
