Dave Matthews is featured in a new public service announcement which is currently airing on various television networks. You can see the PSA online at the official DMB Web site. Dave is featured among many other Americans! The theme of the PSA is "Hate will not stop hate!" and is sponsored by civilrights.org, a social justic network.
The Fan Club Packages are Coming!
How about some great news, Warehouse members?! The 2001 fan club packages have *finally* shipped out! The box is said to contain a CD that offers behind-the-scenes material from the days leading up to the "Everyday" release and "exclusive" live footage! Other items included in the package are a poster and a sticker.
In an e-mail sent out Wednesday, the fan club said that fans should be receiving the packages within the next few weeks as they have already been mailed.
The e-mail also included a remark about some of the footage on the CD. A shot of the World Trade Center's twin towers appears in one of the videos. The footage was of course completed before the tragedy. The Warehouse asks that fans: "...accept this package with all due respect."
New Design Contest
Another announcement from the Warehouse this week is in regard to another contest! The fan club has previously held a contest allowing fans to submit entries for the t-shirt design (The winner was announced in a previous installment of DMB news! Just click the link to go to previous articles to see it.)
The new contest asks for submissions of design for the next hat. The very best news?! Some fans had taken Dave's remarks from earlier this year to indicate that this may be the last tour for a while... well, as the DMB Mailing List Web site pointed out, this e-mail has a hint in it that confirms there will be a 2002 tour! :-)
Here's the hint: "...[the winner] will receive 2 tickets to the show of your choice for Dave Matthews Band Tour 2002!" The winner's hat will be sold on the Warehouse Web site and the proceeds from the sale of the winning hat will go to Bama Works, DMB's charitable organization.
