(9/18/01, 1 p.m. ET) -- The Dave Matthews Band has responded to the current emotional climate in light of last week's terrorist attacks and will not issue "When The World Ends" as a single, instead planning to release the title track from its current album, Everyday.

A spokesperson for the group confirmed that the band has "switched gears" and is readying "Everyday" for release. At the same time, the spokesperson defends "When The World Ends," calling it a "positive, goofy, uplifting song."

"When The World Ends" was expected to go for adds at radio next week. There is no date yet for the release of "Everyday.""

Earlier in the week, Launch reported: "And the Dave Matthews Band's upcoming single "When The World Ends" looks to not be going to radio September 25 as previously scheduled, based solely on the song title alone. The track is described as a love song, but the tune's apocalyptic name has reportedly given industry executives pause."
