The DMB Mailing List Web site reported this week that DMB has been nominated for the Band of the Year award by High Times Magazine. The nomination was announced in a news article provided by Launch.com, who reported that the band’s fellow nominees include Black Crowes and Weezer. The 2nd Annual Doobie Awards will be held in New York City on September 12th.
EW Chats with Stefan
Entertainment Weekly is now officially my favorite magazine. Yes, the periodical that once got my fur-a-flyin’ after dissing DMB’s “Before These Croweded Streets” on its worst albums of the year list a few years back, is now in my good graces. This is only because they have featured the band or individual members quite a few times over the last few months and, well, it’s about time!
If you pick up this week’s issue (September 7th) you’ll find a story featuring DMB’s own Stefan Lessard. The author caught up with him at the X Games, where Stefan was video taping the skateboarding competition to get tips. The bassist makes a remark about the future of The Lillywhite Sessions. He says that the band plans to record a live show soon that will feature “reworked” versions of the Lillywhite songs. Altogether now DMB- heads: Woo-hoo!!
Special Delivery! The Matthews Twins are Here!
As we reported in a previous news bulletin, Dave and Ashley’s twin girls, Stella Busina and Grace Anne, were born August 15th! EW reports that Stella weighed 6 pounds 9 ounces and Grace, 6 pounds. Congrats to the Matthews family!
