The Latest DMB News: June 15, 2001DMB in "EW" These days, there aren't a whole lot of articles that interest me in "Entertainment Weekly" yet I recently renewed my subscription. I've never felt the same about "EW" since they gave BTCS a scathing, unfair review a few years back... seems they're making up for it now! Not only did the band recently grace the cover and rank a feature story, "EW" has outdone themselves... this week's issue includes a review of the completely unofficial "Lillywhite Sessions." Who'dathunkit? ;-) Official Phish Album Update The DMB Web site has finally made it official. They've announced Dave's appearance on the Phish tribute CD (see our previous articles for more info):
The Mockingbird Foundation has announced the complete roster of contributors to Sharin' in the Groove: Celebrating the Music of Phish, a double-disc Phish tribute which will be released June 26. The compilation will feature 143 musicians performing 25 songs, including at least one track originally released on each of Phish's eight studio albums, plus three songs never previously released by Phish. Proceeds will exclusively benefit music education for children. Trouble at RFK Fans at the RFK show got a little more than they bargained for last Saturday. The band released an official statement earlier this week: "As those of you who went to the RFK show know, the local security at RFK Stadium did a very poor job at handling crowd control at the show on Saturday. We want to apologize to those of you who were inconvenienced by what occurred. ... Despite pleas from us in the band and our tour management staff, our fans continued to be thrown out and local security problems persisted throughout the show. This is not the way we want to see our fans treated..." Please see the band's official site (linked below) to read the statement in its entirety. Chat With DMB MSN Live has DMB as its Artist of the Month for June. There will be a live chat with the band Friday, June 22.
