DMB Kicks off Spring Tour!!!Dave Matthews Band kicked off the 2001 spring tour last weekend in their hometown of Charlottesville. The setlist played at UVA's Scott Stadium last Saturday was as follows:
The symbols next to the songs indicated guests: the "lovely ladies" sang along on the songs with a *. The + means Neil Young joined the band on stage. The days leading up to the show were not without controversy... Planned Parenthood -- who DMB supports through its charitable organization Bama Works -- planned to distribute free condoms to the concert's attendess. After the band received a scathing attack from the anti-abortion activist group Rock for Life, the condom-dispensing plan was shelved in the 11th hour. But the album as a whole is great and I really enjoy Dave's new style..." Brien's review really made me stop and think... I am currently eating my words (yum!!) and I now unabashedly say that the song "Angel" is really growing on me... hey, it's a girl's prerogative to change her mind, no?
Suite 101 visitor Boo728 also shared some comments: "My ears just finished listening to the whole album and I have to say.. that it may be unusual and different than his prior albums, but that does mean that it's not good... it's wonderful!!! I loved every minute of it. I can't wait to see how they perform in the summer concerts! I can't wait till the months ahead. I'm
