The Latest DMB News: March 9, 2001

Here is a round-up of all the latest Dave Matthews Band-related news! This week, Everyday hits the charts at numero uno, the countdown is on for Warehouse members and a new interview is available at MTV online...

Everyday Debuts Triumphantly!

DMB's highly-anticipated fourth studio album, Everyday, has debuted at the top spot on Billboard's Top 200 Chart! More than 700,000 copies of the album were sold its first week on shelves.

According to Billboard.com, the grand total of 732,000 is the most first-week albums sold since the Beatles compilation album 1 sold more than 1.25 million copies its first week out.

Fans should note that this makes a "two-fer" for DMB. Their previous studio release, 1998's Before These Crowded Streets, also debuted at number one. Congratulations, DMB!!

Ticket Sales Confirmed

Warehouse members... did you reserve your concert tickets last month? If so, then you should know that the lottery is over and ticket status can now be confirmed. Go to the ticketing section at the Warehouse Web site, and you will most likely see the word "confirmed" under your ticket status column.

Notice to your right, there is a link showing your seat numbers. A quick visit to your venue's official Web site will probably turn up a seating chart. Do a quick check to see just how lucky you were in the lotto! Then, jump up and down or rant and fuss as it applies to your situation. ;-)

Either way, once you actually *see* your seat you can officially begin the countdown to the show. Me? I'm a happy camper... but it wouldn't hurt to get a repeat of last summer's show... to the two tapers who switched seats with me... "You guys rule! Second row was *sweet*!"

Tickets will begin shipping later this month. Mailing of the tickets is staggered according to the date of your show. Check the Warehouse site for details on the ETA of your tix.

New Interview at MTV Online

A new interview with band members can be found at MTV online. Stefan, Boyd and Dave are interviewed. The new album is the main topic of discussion and new insight is revealed in regard to the band's new sound, what happened with Steven Lillywhite, how Carlos Santana became involved and what's up next for the band.

Another feature at the Web site is the ability to enter a drawing for a week's worth of DMB concerts including airfare to San Francisco, spending cash, swank hotel rooms and more! You'll find the link below. Good luck!
