"Our Dave?! A Movie Star?!"

Dave! A Movie Star?!

According to the DMB Mailing List Web site and MTV.com, Dave Matthews is considering making a movie! MTV.com reported the following earlier this week: " The singer — whose leading-man work on the film adaptation of the Wilson Rawls children's book "Where the Red Fern Grows" ground to a disappointing halt after the project ran out of funds early last year is considering a role as a bad guy in the upcoming film "24 Hours," co-starring Charlize Theron and Courtney Love."

It just so happens that the film's co-exectuive producer is the band's producer for the upcoming album Everyday Glen Ballard. A coincidence? 'Doesn't look like it!

Ballard recently said in a chat that Dave "...is mulling over the script, which would cast him as one of the masterminds of the kidnapping... not so much a villain as a sweet enforcer." Whatever on earth a "sweet enforcer" might be, I'm sure Dave will make a good one. ;-)

Meanwhile, on a Television Near You...

It's not quite the big screen, but Dave's already been in front of the camera this week to film the video for the first single from Everyday, "I Did It." The video began filming this past Tuesday and production is set to finish on Thursday. No word on what the video is actually about yet, but it is supposed to very closly reflect the song's lyrics, according to statement made by Dave in a chat earlier this year.

An interview with the band aired this past Tuesday on the CBS news show "Sixy Minutes II." North Carolina native Charlie Rose interviewed each band member and included several behind-the-scenes views into the guys' pre-concert fun. Charlie even jokingly threatened to get up on stage during the show to which Boyd replied, "That's cool... that's cool."!

Each member of the band seemed very upbeat and positive about the new album. Dave commented that when the he traveled to California to work with Glen Ballard on the new album, it was not the band nor Glen's intention to scrap all of the previous work; but then Dave got out there and started writing and he just couldn't stop...

So began the songs that became Everyday... which is coming very, very soon! Fellow DMB-heads, the countdown is officially on! Only about a month to go!!
