Track Listing Released
Dave Matthews Band's representatives sent out an e-mail to Warehouse members last week listing the songs that will be included on the upcoming studio album. The e-mail also confirmed the previously mentioned release date of February 27th. In no particular order, the tracks appearing on Everyday are:
To many fans' dissapointment, the track list unequivocally confirms what has been rumored for months: none of the Summer Tour 2000 songs originally recorded with Steve Lillywhite survived the cut. This means songs fans grew to love over the past year or so like "JTR" and "Bartender" will not appear on a studio album. The reasons behind this are still unclear and I will be certain to report any further developments and/or statements regarding the controversy. Interview, Photos & Downloads Available Online Fans were also made privy to a Web site address in the aforementioned e-mail regarding Everyday. The site (which you will find hyperlinked in the resources section below) includes a video interview with the band. The video features the song "I Did It" as the background music; the song is rumored to be the first single to be released off Everyday. Unfortunately, the interview in and of itself isn't very long and the single is not played in its entirety, but the interview is quite interesting. One of the most intriguing comments that Dave makes during the interview is the fact that he feels that band got their youth back recording this album... they're reclaiming their youth already? Hmmm... just wait until they're senior citizens like The Stones! One wonders what they will do to reclaim their youth then if they feel old already! Jeesh, Dave, I hope I don't feel old when I'm 33! ;-) Another plus at the site is a picture gallery of cover art and photos at the special members-only section. The pictures are from the photo shoot done for the CD insert. Additionally, the site promises exclusive downloads between now and the date of the album's release. If you are not a member of The Warehouse, you can gain access to the site and its exclusive downloads by pre-ordering Everday at the site. Cohen Critique Billboard.com's Daily Music News recently featured an article about Everyday in which Jonathon Cohen reacted to a sneak preview of the album. The article describes eight of the album's 12 tracks.
