Upcoming Web Daffodil Show

The 2001 Cyber Daffodil Show

This is just a reminder to get those cameras out and take your best pictures for entering into the 2nd Annual Fox Run Cyber Daffodil Show. This show is brought to you by the courtesy of Bronze Fox, our mascot.

Save those camera shots and get ready to submit them. We will have our show immediately after the traditional "Daffodil Season" which is generally April in my "neck of the woods."

There will be many different categories to enter, and those pictures that are not intered into a specific category will be assigned a category my our web master, me. I'd really like to expand our garden daffodil entries, which is those daffodil pictures that doesn't include show staged flowers.

In other words, we want daffodils growing in the garden, or a field, or a yard, or a ditch or whatever. These pictures can be with daffodils alone, with your kids, with you, your pets, or in strange situations. Other flowers can be show, however, a daffodil must be occupy the prominent position in the picture to be eligible. The only catch is, they must have been grown in the location where they are pictured.

We also will have categories for pot grown daffodils, which can include other flowers. You can use your imigination for this potted category. At home and garden shows, I've seen some very nicely done arrangements.

Of course, there will be the usual categories for show flowers that are staged for show. I haven't decided the categories yet, but they will be based on the Washington Daffodil Society Show classification guide.

Rules

In addition to the rules above, the standard rules are:

  • All entries must be entered on the "Web" and filed electronically.
  • You must have taken the picture yourself, however, you do not have to have owned the daffodil.
  • You may enter a picture taken by another, however, you must enter the picture in the name of the person that took the picture.
  • You can enter a picture taken at any time, any place, and any year, except future years!
  • You can only enter one picture in each category.

Hope that helps. Get those picture ready, and keep watching this site for the 2nd annual Cyber Daffodil Show, year 2001.

Keep raising those daffodils.
