The daffodil breeding business is one of the hardest to sustain, and it is not unknown for the sucessful breeders to be second and third generations of the same family. Because of the length of time it takes to get a daffodil into production, it is not unusual for a son to be naming and propagating his father's daffodils, and most likely, if his daffodils become known, it will be through his own children after he is gone.
