Just a note of thanks to Suite101.com for allowing me this bit of space to share my cooking obsession. It's been a year and the Suite is a great place to share ideas and recipes. A special thanks to Jason and Vickie for all your help!!!
Imagine a bowl of hot, spicy, savory chili sitting on the dinner table. Steam slowly rises into the air, and the aroma that it carries beckons to everyone within a 50 yard radius. You don't even have to call anyone to dinner. The aroma wafts throughout the house searching for noses. Noses breathe in the aroma and immediately notify the mouth, taste buds, and stomach that it's time to feed the body attached. The body responds and tells the feet and legs to start moving toward that succulent smell. Somewhere in this whole process, the brain gets all the body parts moving toward that smell. Fingers flex, preparing to hold the spoon needed to taste the source of that smell. The muscles in the arms tighten, mentally visualizing the proper movement from bowl to mouth. The pulse quickens as the body moves toward the aroma. Chili is not only good to eat, it's also an adrenaline rush! Chili is a favorite in our home, as in millions of homes throughout the world. There are so many ways to prepare it, that you could eat chili everyday for a month and not eat the same chili twice. Beans? Sure. Beef, Pork, Chicken, Fish? Throw it in the pot. Onion? Pepper? Carrot? Celery? Cabbage? Rutabaga? Why not. You like cocoa? So does chili. A dash of nutmeg or cinnamon perhaps? Chili is very accommodating. Ladle a healthy helping of chili over pasta or rice. Blanket a hot dog or Italian Sausage in a bun with chili. Vanilla Ice Cream? NO! (I may love chili, but even I have my limits) Here are a few good chili links that include recipes, preparation tips, and all things chili. Go To Page: 1 2
